Why Would You Apply Essential Oils to your Navel?

According to Ayurveda, your navel is a powerful button that holds the key to the proper function of several bodily functions. One great way to take care of it is to apply oil to your navel regularly. Natural oils, such as essential as well as carrier oils, are particularly helpful.

After it is created, it joins the mother’s placenta through the umbilical cord.  All our veins are connected to our navel, which makes it the focal point of our body. The belly button is life itself!
 
The “Pechoti” is behind the navel, which has more than 72,000 veins. The total amount of blood vessels we have in our body is equal to double the circumference of the earth.
 
Using the belly button as an essential oil and carrier oil application site can be a helpful nighttime routine to support a more restful nights sleep.
It’s important to do this for a minimum of 3 nights in a row using the same essential oil or blend. Pair it with a good carrier oil to enhance the experience and to make sure you don’t have an unpleasant dermal response.
Here’s how to do it.
Step #1 Lay on your back on your bed and drop a drop of essential oil directly into your belly button.
Step #2 drip 1-3 drops of carrier oil into your belly button.
Step #3 stay on your back for 20 minutes to allow absorption. Any remainder after the 20 minutes you may rub around the belly button area as a moisturizer so it doesn’t leak out and stain your clothing or sheets.
Essential Oils to try:
Lavender, Stress Away, Peace & Calming, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Valor, Valerian or your favorite calming oil.
Carrier Oils to try: Grapeseed, Jojoba, Mustard seed, coconut, V6, or your favorite carrier oil.
